Blessed Are the Meek

“Blessed are the meek, for they will inherit the earth” (Matthew 5:5). What does it mean to be meek? Why are people who are meek, blessed? It turns out, “meek” can be hard to define. It generally suggests gentleness but stresses the self-control or self-restraint that it involves. We can be gentle and controlled by God because we know that He holds everything together and He will renew all things. The meek don’t sweat a thing because their Father holds everything.
