The “Big Deal”

When Jesus finished giving the “Sermon on the Mount”, the crowd responded to Him the way they often did—with amazement. They weren’t amazed necessarily by the words or parables He spoke (though they were amazing!), they were astonished by the authority in which He spoke. How is it that Jesus communicated with such authority? What was the big deal about Jesus? Jesus was different than the other teachers the crowds because of who He is. Jesus isn’t a big deal, He’s the Ultimate Deal.
